Understanding the Fundamentals of Christian Marriage
What does it really mean to have a Christian marriage?
In this message, we continue the Understanding the Basics series with “Understanding the Fundamentals of Christian Marriage.” Marriage is more than two people choosing to live together. It is a covenant relationship in which husband and wife learn to love, serve, forgive, grow, and keep choosing one another—with Christ at the centre.
Drawing from Scripture, this teaching explores the foundations that should shape a Christian marriage: sacrificial love, mutual submission and honour, truthful and gracious communication, forgiveness, sexual faithfulness, spiritual companionship, financial unity, healthy boundaries with extended family, humility, and perseverance through trials.
A Christian marriage is not one without difficulties. The difference is how those difficulties are faced—with Christ, faith, humility, forgiveness, and a commitment to continue walking together.
